Today they celebrate 29 years of being
married. I am truly thankful for my parents. They have showed me the true
meaning of love.
My parents met in 1978, at the time my mom was
14 and my dad was 15. They were only kids at the time, however a few years
later they got married. They have been together 35 years altogether and they
have been through a lot in their relationship. From Gang Members and now Pastors
of a church. I have heard many stories of their fights; literally fist fights,
and how God saved them. I have only witnessed them being saved and seeing God
in their marriage. I am truly thankful that they have shown not only me, but
also my brother and sister what it takes to have a God-centered marriage.
They have shown me that no matter how long you
have been married your love only grows deeper for one another. My dad is a
mushy guy, I know that’s a good thing, he always verbally and physically shows
my mom how much he loves her. We all call him the Love Doctor. lol But
seriously he has always shown his affection towards my mom since as long as I
can remember. There are 3 things that stick out in their marriage. First their
love for one another, also their Commitment to each other, and finally their loyalty.
I believe one day my marriage will be at least half of what theirs is and more.

Happy Anniversary! Love you both.

Great thoughts, Tam! I am inspired by your parents and pray that my marriage can be as blessed as theirs...very great examples of what marriage and ministry should be...Thanks for your blog post :)
